District 57

All 100 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates are up for election in November 2025.

Democrats currently hold a razor-thin majority of 51 seats to Republicans' 49. House District 57 is considered one of the most competitive districts in the Commonwealth. It's located in Henrico and Goochland Counties.

This district was an open seat in 2023 due to redistricting. The Republican incumbent won only by 715 votes (two percentage points). In 2024, of the eight Republican-held districts that went for Kamala Harris, she won District 57 by 9.4 ppts, or 4,824 votes, making it Democrats' top pick-up opportunity. All eyes will be on the 57th this year because it will determine which party controls the House of Delegates.
